Gabriel Mackinnon assisted Cadillac Fairview in a recent revitalization of Markville Mall. A challenging main floor food court lacking daylight became an especially proud accomplishment; the firm was able to achieve significant benefits via lighting to make the food court a bright and welcoming space. Large custom fixtures which seem to emit a warm glow were developed for this area.
Elsewhere, specialized retrofit mounting details allowed new products to be installed in old housing niches, providing significant improvements to main mall concourse with only minor lighting infrastructure changes. Energy efficient LED lighting was incorporated where appropriate, to provide a clean, updated appearance and reduced energy usage.
