Gabriel Mackinnon was a key player in the redevelopment of the Urban Eatery in Toronto’s high profile Eaton Centre, working with GH+A to provide a richly detailed space for Cadillac Fairview. The space was particularly challenging from a lighting standpoint as it is entirely underground; extensive use of coves above tenant brows elevate visually elevate the ceilings, providing a lofty atmosphere.
Extensive use of detail lighting on vibrantly coloured & carefully crafted surfaces was incorporated to give the space a distinctive atmosphere, elevating it beyond a typical mall food court.
