City of Ottawa – Right-of-Way Lighting Policy
The Right of Way Lighting Policy was developed in accordance with international street lighting standards in order to streamline the provision of right of way lighting across the city of Ottawa. Goals included:
- Reducing the overall lighting equipment inventory by minimizing different fixtures used.
- Provide a more uniform lighting approach throughout the city.
- Provide pole and fixture options that are high quality, cost efficient and maintainable.
- Reduce light pollution and energy consumption.
