Old Ottawa South is home to this infill residence designed by John Donkin. Gabriel Mackinnon collaborated with the homeowners to incorporate lighting into many of the millwork details, providing subtle washes of light at important places like the entry, living room and central open kitchen. Glowing surface mounted luminaires are used in private rooms, while quiet downlights provide fill lighting around interesting decorative pendants located at key points.

The result was accomplished within a reasonable budget; a modern but comfortable home that can accommodate the daily life of a young family.
