We were honoured to be selected to participate in last year’s Nuit Blanche celebrations. In case you’re not familiar with Nuit Blanche, it’s a a dusk-till-dawn celebration of contemporary art and local culture taking place in multiple venues across the Ottawa+Gatineau cityscape.

Re-Frag Project Proposal Image

For the year’s theme of SuperNova, Gabriel Mackinnon developed an interactive light exhibit to play with colour and motion. The artists description follows:

RE-FRAG

Re-frag is an interactive project. At glance, there is nothing – but a light that illuminates the space. Re-frag is activated when a person steps into place, the space between the wall and the light where shadow is created.

Here are some images from the night:

This project was hosted by the Canadian Museum of Civilization, with additional sponsorship and support by Flux Lighting, and Christie Lites. Thanks to all our sponsors and visitors for an amazing night!
